Pozy is designed to combat "text neck" and poor posture habits. It monitors your device's sensors in real-time to detect when you are slouching or looking down at your phone for extended periods. When poor posture is detected, the app gently alerts you to correct it.
Crucially, all processing happens 100% on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal sensor data on our servers.
Permissions We Request
To provide its core functionality of real-time posture monitoring and correction, Pozy requires specific permissions. We use these permissions strictly for the purposes described below:
1. Foreground Service (android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE)
Why we need it: To monitor your device's angle/tilt in real-time even when you are using other apps. This ensures that we can alert you if you start slouching while scrolling social media or reading emails.
2. System Alert Window (android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW)
Why we need it: To display a non-intrusive "Correct Posture" overlay or visual cue above other apps when we detect poor posture. This allows you to receive immediate feedback without leaving your current activity.
3. Wake Lock (android.permission.WAKE_LOCK)
Why we need it: To ensure that the posture detection engine continues to run reliably during active sessions, preventing the CPU from sleeping mid-process which would interrupt your wellness tracking.
4. Ignore Battery Optimizations (android.permission.REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS)
Why we need it: Android proactively closes background apps to save battery. Since Pozy is a background utility meant to protect your posture throughout the day, we need this permission to prevent the operating system from killing the monitoring service unexpectedly.
5. Post Notifications (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS)
Why we need it: To show the persistent service notification (required by Android for foreground services) so you know Pozy is active, and to send wellness reminders or summaries if enabled.
6. Vibrate (android.permission.VIBRATE)
Why we need it: To provide haptic feedback (gentle vibrations) as a discreet way to alert you of poor posture, without needing to look at the screen or hear a sound.
Data Collection & Privacy
Zero Data Collection
We believe your health data is personal. Pozy works entirely offline for its core functionality. We do not track, collect, upload, or sell your sensor data, posture habits, or app usage patterns.
Local Processing Only
- • Sensor Data: Accelerometer and gyroscope data are processed in real-time on your device's processor and immediately discarded.
- • Preferences: Your sensitivity settings, timer preferences, and haptic feedback choices are stored locally on your device.
Data Security
Because we do not transmit your data to any external server, the risk of a remote data breach is eliminated by design. Your data remains physically on your device.
Your Responsibility: We recommend keeping your device secure with a passcode or biometrics to prevent unauthorized local access to your app settings.
