At Moxstudio (“we,” “our,” or “us”), we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how MOZY (“the App”) handles your information when you use it. MOZY is an app blocker combined with fitness, where you literally walk to unblock the apps you choose to restrict.
MOZY helps you build healthier digital habits. When you try to open a blocked app, MOZY asks you to take steps in the real world to earn access. Along the way, your friendly companion Mozy keeps you motivated.
MOZY is completely offline. We do not run any servers that collect your data, and none of your information is ever sent to the cloud. Everything happens privately on your own device.
100% Offline & Privacy First
MOZY is built to work entirely on your device. We want to be clear about what this means for you:
- • No cloud, no servers. Your data never leaves your phone.
- • No accounts or sign-ups. You can use MOZY without ever creating a profile.
- • No tracking or analytics of your personal behavior on our side.
- • No selling or sharing of data with third parties, because we never collect it in the first place.
Permissions We Request
Physical Activity / Step Counting
MOZY requests the "Physical Activity" (Activity Recognition) permission to count your steps. This is the core of the app.
- • Step data is used only to measure your walking progress so you can unblock your chosen apps.
- • Your step count is processed and stored locally on your device and is never uploaded anywhere.
Accessibility Service
MOZY uses the Accessibility Service to detect when you open an app you have chosen to block, so it can show the blocking screen. This permission is used solely for the app-blocking feature.
- • It only reads which app is currently in the foreground so MOZY knows when to step in and block it.
- • We do NOT read, collect, log, or transmit the content of your screen, your keystrokes, messages, passwords, or any personal information.
- • All processing happens on-device and in real time. Nothing is recorded or sent off your phone.
Display Over Other Apps (Overlay)
MOZY requests the "Display over other apps" permission to show the blocking overlay on top of restricted apps. This permission is used solely for the following purpose:
- • To display the blocking screen and your walking progress when you open a blocked app.
- • To show your companion Mozy and the steps needed to unlock access.
We do NOT use this permission to track your activity, read screen content, or interact with other applications in any way other than displaying our blocking overlay.
Data Collection & Storage
No Server Storage
We respect your privacy. We do not track, collect, or store any of your personal data on our servers. MOZY does not have servers that receive your information.
Local Data Only
- • Step Data: Your daily step counts and walking progress are stored locally on your device.
- • Blocked Apps List: The list of apps you choose to block is stored locally on your device.
- • Preferences: Your settings, such as step goals and companion preferences, are stored locally.
Data Security
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you retain full control over your information. We do not have access to your personal data, and it never leaves your device.
Your Responsibility: Please ensure your device is secure to protect your local data.
Children's Privacy
MOZY does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because the app operates entirely offline and collects no data, there is no personal information gathered from any user.
